A Message from Our Green Committee
As the Chairman of the Green Committee, I was fortunate to be invited by Marilyn Waters, of the Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition, to join a Zoom presentation hosted by the Ocean Research & Conservation Association. ORCA presented a detailed look at the collecting, testing and organizing of data from the Indian River Lagoon, as well as their "One Health" program. The "One Health" program is focused on studying the transfer of toxins and toxicants from the Indian River Lagoon to humans and animals. In addition, they explain the "Citizen Science" opportunities for all who wish to take part. If you have high school age children, they can even earn Volunteer hours for fishing!
