On behalf of The Space Coast Association of REALTORS® it is with heavy hearts we share the passing of former United States Congressman and Past President of the Space Coast Association of REALTORS®, Bill Posey, on May 9, 2026.
Congressman Posey was a longtime advocate for Florida’s Space Coast and a respected public servant who dedicated his career to representing and supporting the communities he served. Throughout his time in public office, he was a strong supporter of policies that promoted economic growth, protected property rights, and strengthened the Space Coast region.
Congressman Posey was also a longtime member of the Space Coast Association of REALTORS®, having joined the Association in 1974 and serving as President in 1988. He was further recognized with REALTOR® Emeritus status in honor of his longstanding commitment and distinguished service to the REALTOR® organization and the real estate profession. Throughout his years in public service, he remained a steadfast supporter of REALTOR® issues and an advocate for homeownership and private property rights.
Bill Posey represented Florida in the United States House of Representatives from 2009 to 2025 and previously served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. His leadership and commitment to the Space Coast left a lasting impact on our community and the residents he faithfully represented.
The Space Coast Association of REALTORS® extends our heartfelt condolences to his wife Katie, his daughters Cathi and Pamela, and the entire Posey family during this difficult time. We also extend our thoughts to his friends, former colleagues, staff members, and all those whose lives were touched by his service and dedication.
Congressman Posey’s legacy of public service and commitment to the Space Coast community will long be remembered with gratitude and respect.
