It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our colleagues, Realtor Emeritus Coy A. Clark, CCIM. Coy left us on Monday, August 21, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that has greatly impacted the real estate community at large.
Coy was a member of the Space Coast Association of Realtors/Melbourne Association of Realtors since 1973. His dedication to his profession spanned five decades, during which he not only demonstrated exceptional expertise but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration among his fellow Realtors.
Coy was a visionary developer who played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of our region. His extensive portfolio included the development of over 25 residential communities, including the notable Baytree Subdivision in Suntree. His contributions extended beyond residential projects, encompassing office buildings, retail centers, and the impressive Seaside Center office building in Indialantic.
Beyond his accomplishments in the real estate realm, Coy was deeply involved in community affairs. His leadership was felt as he served as President of the Space Coast Home Builders and Contractors Association in 1993 and as a Director from 1992 to 2005. Coy's civic engagements were numerous, spanning advisory roles at Wachovia Bank, Greater South Chamber of Commerce, Florida Institute of Technology, Keep Brevard Beautiful, and the Brevard Economic Development Council.
Coy's dedication and passion also earned him the esteemed CCIM designation in 1982. As a Certified Commercial Investment Member, he brokered numerous commercial and residential transactions, leaving an indelible mark on the Space Coast real estate landscape. One of his most notable achievements was his involvement in the development of the first 15 Wal-Mart stores in the State of Florida, working alongside Sam and Rob Walton.
Amidst his professional achievements, Coy held his family in the highest regard. He was a loving husband to Tabitha (Tobi) and a devoted father to his son, Brigham Clark, and daughter, Hailey Clark Jazieri.
A memorial service to celebrate Coy's life will be held on September 7, 2023, at His Place Ministries, 1824 S. Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32901. We encourage all those who had the privilege of knowing Coy to join us in commemorating his remarkable journey.
Condolences and messages of support can be sent to his wife, Tabitha, at Tabitha@coyclark.com, Son, Brigham at brig@coyclark.com and Daughter, Hailey at hailbop328@gmail.com
