Floor plans are an important part of a listing. Just as important as those beautiful images you work so hard to achieve, a floor plan is the visual that makes it all come together.
Because our MLS uses Flexmls, we also get the added benefit of FlōPlan! When we read that a user’s 88-year old grandma created a floor plan with ease, we had big expectations. They say it’s the easiest floor plan generating app out there, so we gave it a try!
You download the FlōPlan mobile app to your phone and “sign in with MLS” (find our full MLS name). Then, you are ready to start scanning the property! Once we hit the plus icon on the app we turned our phone sideways and were ready to go! The how-to video told us to point to where the floor meets the wall 3-8 feet in front of us. So we acted like we were drawing the line with our phone and began the video recording as we walked through the house with the floor/wall intersection as our focus.
We weren’t completely confident when we came across a big couch, but we’re told “just keep scanning” as if the furniture wasn’t there, so we kept on choosing to navigate each floor in a clockwise path (it’s best to try to minimize backtracking).
After completing the video scan, starting on the lowest floor and making our way to the top floor (only took 5 minutes!), we submitted the scan to process a floor plan.
The next morning we were surprised to get our results back so quickly. As we opened our completed floor plan it seemed like magic! The floor plan perfectly represented the flow of the home. The windows, doors, major appliances, and even the back patio we included were all there!
The best part though, was that FlōPlan suggested our relevant active listing that was in Flexmls. One click and the floorplan was uploaded to the listing. Absolute game changer!
