Please take a moment to look over the National Association of REALTORS notice for needed technology upgrades happening March 11th & 12th:
As part of NAR's overall plan to modernize systems, the NAR Information Technology team is planning to upgrade a major portion of their infrastructure this coming weekend, beginning on Saturday, March 11th at 8am until Sunday, March 12th at 10pm with a possibility of additional downtime on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd.
This outage provides the opportunity to upgrade the Oracle database, which serves as the foundation for all of their major systems, including REALTORS® M1, the Central Database (CDB) and ECommerce as well as numerous integrations. The down time will result in a pause of service to all payment transactions, web services (i.e. verification of NAR membership), and education courses. This includes all Realtor Ecommerce functions, all NAR Web Services, the NRDS CDB and M1 functions and processes.
This outage impacts many aspects of business and NAR hopes you understand that they tried their very best to find a time that was least disruptive to most. Unfortunately, there is never an optimal time to disturb NAR business, but it is critical to ensure that the back-end is able to strongly and securely support all of the good work to be done for members.
All AMS vendors, NAR web service providers, programmers and other techies know about the upcoming outage.
All the Ecommerce functions, all the NRDS CDB functions, all the NAR Web Services functions will be unavailable. The M1 screens, because they have to synchronize with the NRDS CDB database will also be unavailable.
As always, once all systems are back up we will let you know. Also, just as an FYI, if for any reason we have to reschedule this outage we will know by Thursday March 9 and let you know immediately.
