The Economic Development Commission of Florida's Space Coast is supporting an FPL grant to help make land site ready at no cost to the owners. Can we identify as many properties in Brevard County as possible to take advantage of this opportunity?
By submitting a parcel for the Florida First Sites Program with FPL the owner will receive the benefits mentioned below. Please see the parameters and deadline below as well. We encourage people to submit as many parcels of land that fit the criteria as this will enable us to go through the process of site readiness with each property to identify the needs from GLS. Ten (10) properties throughout Florida in the FPL service area will be selected to receive the full benefits of this program.
Minimum requirements to participate:
- Minimum of 50 Acres (does not have to be congruent)
- Property Intended for Industrial Development
- Landowner Support
Deadline: March 10th, please submit all information to the EDC no later than March 8th.
Benefits of the program include:
• The owners will receive a detailed site assessment highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities associated with the site provided by a well-respected site location firm.
• The owners/EDO will receive spec sheets outlining infrastructure and other details that could be provided to prospective buyers.
• An environmental assessment will be performed by a reputable engineering firm (Terracon) at no cost to the owner.
• The owner will also receive engineering aids/maps associated with the property.
• The owner will receive assistance promoting the site.
