Post Date:03/21/2022 11:51 AM

Beginning March 28, 2022, the City of Palm Bay will offer a new e-permitting software solution, Intuitive Municipal Solutions (iMS), to streamline the permitting process for building, driveway, and lot drainage permits, as well as fence and shed review applications. This web-based solution allows citizens and contractors to submit online permit applications and the supporting documents electronically.

The Building Department offices will be CLOSED to the public on Thursday, March 24th, and Friday, March 25th as we transition to iMS and provide staff training on the new software. Building permit application submittals will be accepted via email until 3:30 pm on Wednesday, March 23rd, and will resume on Monday, March 28th, through the new iMS portal which will be made available from the city website at www.palmbayflorida.org/building. Customers having trouble accessing the new e-permitting system online after March 28th may visit the Building Department at 190 Malabar Rd SW, Suite 105, or call the office at (321) 953-8924 for assistance.

The Building Department’s IVR system to schedule an inspection by phone will also be unavailable starting Wednesday, March 23rd, at 3:00 pm and will reopen for calls on Monday, March 28th, at 7:00 am. Inspections scheduled by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23rd will be conducted during regular business hours (7:00 am-3:00 pm) on Thursday, March 24th. Due to the anticipated volume of inspections, those not completed by Thursday, March 24th, will be rolled to Friday, March 25th. Inspectors will contact customers to reschedule appointments to Friday, March 25th, if they are unable to complete an inspection by Thursday afternoon.

Additionally, On March 28th, the Building Department will transition to a new fee structure. All credit and debit card transactions made online or in-person will have a 2.95% convenience fee per transaction. All online payments using an Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Electronic Check will have a $1.50 flat-rate fee. Residents can make in-person payments with cash or check or pay by check via mail at no additional cost.
