- Always check with the sender as to their identity when a suspicious request comes through
- Confirm before wire transfers and gift card purchases are made on behalf of someone else
Chances are if it's really who they say they are, they wouldn't have asked you to do whatever it is they've asked you to do.... like your boss asking you to pick up fifty $100 digital gift cards for Amex and emailing them over.
