Global real estate opportunities are everywhere. People move to the U.S. from other countries every day and foreign-born individuals residing in the U.S. move to new markets. Americans in your current market may look to invest in property overseas. No matter which audience you cater to, the CIPS designation will provide you with the knowledge, research, network and tools to globalize and expand your business.

The CIPS course curriculum offers you hands-on experience with international real estate transactions, as well as five full days of study focusing on the critical aspects of transnational transactions, including:

*Currency and exchange rate issues
*Cross-cultural relationships
*Regional market conditions
*Investment performance
*Tax issues
*And more!

This course offers students practical information on working with regions of the Americas and provides historical and cultural influences, regional relationship, and investment opportunities from that region. It is designed to benefit both experienced real estate professionals as well as those just getting started.


Instructor
Gonzalo Mejia is originally from Lima, Peru where he studied Industrial Engineering, specializing in Finance and Accounting. Mejia moved to the United States in 2001 and started his real estate career in 2004 as a Sales Associate in Pensacola, FL. He obtained his Broker License in 2006. After moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2009 he joined Watson Realty Corp. He is the broker/manager of their San Marco office. Mejia also obtained his Real Estate Instructor License in 2013. He holds the following designations ABR, CIPS, CRS, GRI, TRC, AHWD, among others. He was bestowed the honor of being named the Florida Realtors® 2018 Educator of the Year.

 During his real estate career Gonzalo, has successfully completed transactions with customers from several Latin American countries, Europe and Asia. He enjoys real estate and sharing his experiences with fellow Realtors. He also believes that having fun makes the process more enjoyable for everybody.

 Gonzalo has 20 years of experience as an instructor. Topics he has taught include real estate, math and physics, Spanish as a second language, technology and fitness. He has been a guest speaker at different REALTOR® events to present about cultural diversity. Mejia also volunteers at the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors teaching Ethics, Fair Housing and Anti-trust at the monthly new member
 orientation.

The CIPS Network comprises 4,500+ real estate professionals from 50 countries and is the specialty membership group for global business practitioners of the National Association of Realtors®.
