This one-day course provided by the National Association of REALTORS® is designed to teach the essentials of buying, selling, and managing resort properties and second homes for recreation, investment and development. Over 1/3 of all home sales are either vacation or investment properties. Demonstrate that you have the skills and knowledge needed to be the resource for these transactions by earning NAR’s RSPS (Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist) Certification.
Learning Objectives:
• Help clients evaluate and select the type of property,
form of ownership, and financing options.
• Identify strategies for building a rental business or
assessing the investment value of a property.
• Understand the IRS guidelines for tax treatment of
second-home vacation and investment properties.
• Use market statistics and trends to develop a business
plan.

Jo-Ann Sloan, PA
For nearly 25 years Jo-Ann has facilitated workshops and seminars in North America, South America, and Europe, and has personally trained and developed tens of thousands individuals. An innovative and energetic speaker, with strong business savvy and a bottom line focus, Jo-Ann has a proven ability to move her audience into action.
Jo-Ann is an accomplished professional with more than thirteen years of real estate experience in management, training, and sales. Prior to joining Coastal Properties Group, Jo-Ann was Managing Broker for Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and has also served as a Broker Associate and Regional Training Manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. While at Coldwell Banker, she was awarded numerous accolades including Rookie of the Year, International Diamond Society, and International President’s Elite, a distinction of the top 1% of sales associates worldwide.
Ms. Sloan is an instructor for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), and she has ranked as the top instructor by Pinellas Realtor Organization for four consecutive years. She has coached and developed thousands of real estate professionals throughout the country.
Before her career in real estate, Ms. Sloan was in senior management for Fortune 500 companies, as well as an executive coach to CEOs, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals in the United States, South America and Europe. Jo-Ann is a certified Instructor for National Association of Realtors’ REBAC and Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) courses. She is highly respected for her effectiveness as a business and life coach, and for her compassion as a yoga and meditation teacher. Jo-Ann was 2015 Board Chair for PRO.
